About

Hi! My name is Reba Collins and that handsome guy in the photo is my husband Brent. We’ve been married forever, since 1985. We are retired and spend our days together.

We most recently ran a robust reselling business where we sold used clothing on Ebay and Poshmark. We still have things for sale on the platforms but have abandoned adding new items as Brent was diagnosed with brain cancer in March of 2023. As of now he’s doing well and handles the shipping of items that sell.

I have been taking care of his medical visits and medicines while spending a lot of time thinking about what to do with my time. I also needed to increase our income. This led me back to making jewelry, it was a love of mine since the day I learned how back in 2013.

My Jewelry Making Journey

Back in 2013 we had just moved in and finished renovating the house where we live now. Our daughter, Brittany, had just moved back from Chicago and was living with us. She and I wanted to do something together so we decided to make jewelry.

We learned all the techniques starting with stringing beads. We moved to chains, soldering sterling silver, and using silver clay. It was so much fun.

After a year or so, my day job got demanding, she moved out, and our enthusiasm faded. I packed everything up and put it in a closet where it has been ever since. Not that I wanted it to be in the closet, quite the opposite, but the thought of unpacking and finding a place to work always stopped me.

I’d been wanting to start a blog for some time but didn’t know what topic I wanted to write about. Then one day I read an article that helped me decide to go back to jewelry making.

The article said to think about things that I loved doing when I was a kid and the things I like doing that make time pass quickly. Well, when I was a kid I spent a lot of time at the kitchen table doing crafts. I would check out crafting books from the library and follow the directions to make stuff. When I’m crafting, I feel like I’m in the zone and jewelry making was one of the things that I loved most.

Our Family

To get to know me is to know my family. We all live in Houston and the surrounding areas. Brent and I have two adult girls, Steph and Brittany.

Steph is married to Zack and in 2012 they had a daughter, Charlotte.

Brittany is married to Nick and in 2017 they had a daughter Brooklyn. Then in 2020 (during the pandemic), they had a little boy they named Beau.

We are so much in love with all of them. The little ones keep us young and we see them often. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

Here’s a gallery so you can get to know our family.
